Coniferous Resort is located in the heart of Sohra, also known as Cherrapunjee, where clouds cast their shade. Sohra holds a significant historical importance as the first British outpost in the Northeast. In the 1820s, David Scott, the political agent of the East India Company, named it Cherra Station and established it as the official headquarters of the British Raj in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills.
Here, you'll find memorial stones, monoliths, bridges, stone seats, and open grounds where chiefs gathered for religious and social events.
